This course covers executive functioning treatment, including the role of the SLP, how to assess, and activities to treat. Participants will learn how to implement activities and techniques into their everyday sessions. A question and answer session is included.

5 minutes: Introductions; Katie Gore and Rachel Muldoon

15 minutes: Framework for treatment including socio-emotional and functional-productive components; lecture by Rachel Muldoon

15 minutes: Role of SLP; lecture by Rachel Muldoon

15 minutes: Assessment process and identification of functional deficits in healthy young adults; lecture by Katie Gore

20 minutes: Example Case Studies; lecture by Rachel Muldoon and Katie Gore

15 minutes: Question and answer session

  • Identify three symptoms of functional executive functioning deficits in healthy young adults
  • Develop a treatment plan that addresses social-emotional as well as functional-productive aspects of executive functioning
  • Apply two interventions to complex professional workplace demands
